Home for Comparative Medicine Professionals

MIT has been a leader in training veterinarians and other comparative medicine professionals in research since 1982, with over 70 veterinarian postdoctoral fellows graduating from 3 - 4 year research postdoctoral fellowships and over 80 veterinary students participating in summer research experiences. These veterinarians go on to careers as independent researchers, laboratory animal veterinarians, and comparative pathologists, and are consistently found in leadership positions at successful companies and prestigious universities.

MIT continues this legacy today, with a postdoctoral training program for veterinarians that consistently attracts applicants from across the globe and that provides trainees with the option for concurrent pursuit of a PhD; with a summer research training program funded by Boehringer Ingelheim and an NIH T35 grant; and with externship opportunities for veterinary technician and veterinary students.
